Our Accomplishments

Preserved West Windsor's Non-Partisan elections

We’ve worked hard to successfully preserve West Windsor’s non-partisan elections.

In 2024, a group calling themselves “West Windsor Voters for Transparency & Representation” claimed to be leading a “grass roots” effort to end West Windsor’s 30 year tradition of non-partisan government elections and put the question on the ballot.

Many West Windsor voters became upset at this attack on our successful election process, which was inclusive, stressed local issues, and gave all voters a voice regardless of party.  Joe Charles, an independent voter who had never been involved in elections before, helped form “Keep West Windsor Non-Partisan”.

KWWNP soon discovered that the “Vote YES” group was neither transparent nor representative nor grass roots, and was supported by ultra partisan party people who wanted to limit voter choices similar to one party/no choice elections in other towns in the county. The “YES” leaders were mostly party leaders who received huge amounts of money contributions and support from out of town partisan politicians, and hired outsiders for their campaign.

Thankfully, the people of West Windsor prevailed and the change was defeated by a 2:1 margin.

Marathe-Geevers-Charles worked hard to defeat this threat to your rights as a voter. They have always supported non-partisan elections in West Windsor and pledge to always do so.
