Our Accomplishments

Road safety improvements for pedestrians, bicycles, and vehicles

We have delivered real, tangible upgrades to make West Windsor’s roads safer for everyone—whether on foot, on bike, or behind the wheel.

In 2025, the West Windsor Mayor and Council affirmed our commitment to safe and environmentally friendly streets for all by preparing and passing a Complete and Green Streets Policy (Resolution 2025-R134).

West Windsor is proud to be one of only 4 municipalities in NJ to be a League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Community.

  • Installed new streetlights, flashing beacons, and high-visibility crosswalks to improve pedestrian safety, and improved bike lanes and pedestrian crossings.
  • Built new sidewalks along Cranbury Road and developed plans for additional sidewalks.
  • Expanded West Windsor’s unique sidewalk repair program with an increased budget, eliminating long wait times for eligible sidewalks.  Instituted a revised  new street tree planting program that reduces sidewalk damage from new trees in the future.
  • Boosted funding for road safety infrastructure, ensuring steady investment in traffic-calming and safety enhancements.
  • Reduced speed limits on high-traffic roads: Rabbit Hill Road, Old Trenton Road, Clarksville Road, Cranbury Road, and Quakerbridge Road, promoting safer travel through and near neighborhoods.
